Here are some ideas to help you have a beautiful wedding on a budget:

Set a budget AND STICK TO IT! This is the most important step. Once you know how much you can afford to spend, you can start making decisions about your wedding.

One idea is to choose an off-peak season or day of the week to get married. Weddings are typically cheaper in the offseason (winter or fall) and on weekdays.

Consider a smaller guest list. This is one of the biggest ways to save money on your wedding. The fewer guests you have, the less you will spend on food, drinks, and venue rental.

Have your wedding at a non-traditional venue. Consider getting married at a park, a beach, a historic building, or even your own backyard. These venues are often much cheaper than traditional wedding venues.

Do it yourself on your decorations! There are many ways to save money on wedding decorations. You can make your own centerpieces, invitations, and favors. There are also many affordable Do it yourself wedding decoration ideas available online.

One bride and groom I officiated, met at a baseball field.
Out of mason jars that were painted like baseballs; They made beautiful center pieces for the tables.

They even had hot dogs with all the condiments, home made potato salad, chips, and put baby ruth mini candy bars sprinkled at the tables along with bowls of peanuts and pop corn.

Clear cellophane bags wrapped boxes of cracker jacks and a squishy baseball that had the bride and grooms name and marriage date on the ball for wedding gifts for guests.

A tower of cupcakes decorated like baseballs for their wedding cake!

Their ceremony was even at the ball field where they met!

My point is, anything with love and respect poured into it, will be amazing!

Another idea is to skip the wedding planner. Wedding planners can be a great help, but they can also be expensive. If you are on a budget, you may want to consider planning your wedding yourself, or maybe your best friend can have your back to make the day flow easier. There are also many resources available online and in libraries to help you plan your wedding.

Serve a buffet dinner instead of a plated meal.
Some really delicious ideas could be a pasta and salad bar.
A couple of big bowls of different types of pasta, with different selections of marinara, alfredo, parmesan cheese, etc. This and a salad bar are terrific ideas that are cost effective and delicious!
Don't forget the garlic and Italian breads! Warm breads fresh out of the oven aromatic and welcoming!

Having a brunch time reception?
Have an omelette bar! Imagine...a couple of chefs with a hot plates. They scoop a ladle full of scrambled eggs pour than onto a small fry pan in front of your guests...add a few breakfast fillings...and TAH DAH! a couple of minutes later...A fresh, beautiful omlette made before your eyes!

Again...ask friends and family for help. Many friends and family members are happy to help with wedding planning and set-up. This is a great way to save money and create a more personal wedding experience. Remember life IS better together.

Focus on what is important to you. Don't feel pressured to spend money on things that are not important to you. Your wedding day should be a reflection of your love and commitment to your partner, not a competition with other couples.

Here are some additional tips for saving money on your wedding:

Buy your wedding attire online or at a sample sale.
Ask a family member if you could have the honor of wearing their wedding dress for your wedding day.

Hire a photographer for a few hours instead of the entire day. Get a bunch of quotes in writing.

Look into artificial flowers instead of fresh. Some artificial flowers look so real, you don't even realize it unless you touch it. Check with your local grocery store. They may have fresh flowers at a fraction of the price, you can select to make your own arrangements for your day.

Skip the open bar and offer a just the "toast" champagne instead.

Create your own wedding cake or cupcakes.

I truly hope some of this was helpful!

Have an A M A Z I N G day!!
